Our new exhibition Female Traces is now open.

The museum´s fourth thematic exhibition is curated from the items of the collection designed by women. The museum collection represents over 300 designers, both Nordic and international. Only 20% of them are female, sadly representative of reality, both past and present. With the exhibition Female Traces, the Museum of Furniture Studies wants to highlight 60 women as creators of some of the most recognizable objects in the world of furniture. The opening of this important exhibition gathered more than 250 people.

Designer of the month
Axel Larsson

Axel Larsson worked for 30 years as a furniture designer for Swedish manufacturer Svenska Möbelfabrikerna i Bodafors. As an interior architect Larsson worked on a.o. the Gothenburg concert hall and for the UN building in New York.
