Jonatan Jahn starts as Head of Collection at the museum

In May we announced that Eva Lilja Löwenhielm will take on the role as Manager for the Museum of Furniture studies and now we can reveal that Jonatan Jahn, expert within design at Bukowskis is appointed Head of Collection.

"Museum of Furniture studies is an important part of our ambition to make Älmhult a global design destination. I dare to say that Jonatan Jahn is one of Sweden’s most prominent experts within contemporary and modern design. It makes me happy and flattered that he sees Museum of Furniture Studies as his next challenge," says Pär Gustafsson, Destination and Museum Manager at IKEA Älmhult AB.

Jonatan Jahn has held the role as Head Specialist at the department for contemporary and modern design at Bukowskis since 2017. Before that he worked at Stockholms Auktionsverk, Nationalmuseum och Museum of Modern Art i New York.

In the role as Head of Collection for Museum of Furniture Studies, the main assignment for Jahn will be to manage and develop the museum collection.

"It feels like a privilege to get the opportunity to contribute to a new design museum in Sweden, there’s so much interesting and really great design that deserves more visibility. And, being part of the journey making Älmhult a design destination," is very exciting, says Jonatan Jahn.

Jonatan Jahn will start his position as Head of Collection at Museum of Furniture Studies as of 1 September 2025.
