Mats Broberg studied interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design from 2001 to 2006, where he met Johan Ridderstråle.
In 2002 the two of them founded Broberg & Ridderstråle Design and Architecture in Stockholm. Together Broberg and Ridderstråle have designed furniture for manufacturers such as Asplund, Swedese, Klong and Offecct. In 2008 the armchair Wimbledon, with a design inspired by classical tennis aesthetics was launched by Nola. Wimbledon is made of a steel frame, with a wire seat and back. Since 2010 the armchair is a part of the collection at the Swedish Nationalmuseum.
The Broberg & Ridderstråle Design studio has been awarded several times for their design, such as Young Swedish Design for the Gulliver lamp (2004), Wallpaper Design Award for Tati by Asplund (2012) and Residence Magazine Design Prize Lamp of the Year for Kandinsky produced by Pholc.
