Working at the intersection of furniture and textile design, Felicia Lundberg is a graduate of the Bachelor’s program in Furniture Design at Malmstens, Linköping University. Her practice is rooted in textiles, craftsmanship, and material storytelling, informed by a background in textile production and experience running her own company focused on sustainable and transparent processes. Together with a strong foundation in sewing and making, this background shapes an approach where soft materials are explored as both structural and expressive elements within furniture.
During her studies, her degree project Letting the Soft Carry investigated textile as a primary structural material, challenging traditional distinctions between surface and structure. By allowing textile to define both form and construction, the project repositions softness as an active and generative force within design. This exploration continues through her broader practice, where the dialogue between textile and wood is used to create dynamic, tactile objects.
Her work is guided by an interest in emotional value, tactility, and the narratives embedded in materials and processes. Materials are approached as carriers of memory, with an emphasis on revealing their origin and history rather than concealing it. Ecological considerations are integral, reflected in her focus on local production, transparency, and the use of reclaimed and waste materials.
Her process is driven by hands-on experimentation, where form emerges through making, testing, and iterative development. Craftsmanship plays a central role, understood as both a method and a way of thinking. Through her work, the boundaries between textile traditions and furniture design are expanded, creating objects where softness, structure, and storytelling are brought into balance.
