As a graduate of Beckmans College of Design, Celine Skolleborg is engaged in furniture and product design. Her practice is centered on modular systems, where objects are explored in terms of how they can connect, adapt, and be reconfigured in flexible ways. Influenced by material-driven design and a strong engagement with wood and craftsmanship, an approach is taken that combines conceptual thinking with hands-on making to investigate how form, function, and material shape usability and character.
During her studies, she has completed collaborative design projects with Designtorget and Svenskt Tenn, gaining experience in translating ideas into real-world contexts. She has also been awarded the Designer-in-Residence Scholarship at Beckmans, providing her with a dedicated studio, workshop access, and the opportunity to further develop her work over an additional year.
Wood plays a central role in her practice, valued for its responsiveness and material clarity, allowing her to confidently explore form and construction. Craft and making are essential to her process, often beginning in the workshop alongside digital tools such as 3D CAD to refine and test ideas. Functionality is a key consideration, balanced with a strong attention to expression and material suitability.
Skolleborg’s work is characterized by a focus on individuality and presence, creating objects with distinct character and identity. By approaching each piece as something with its own personality, she aims to offer new interpretations of familiar forms, while developing designs that feel both considered and engaging in everyday use.
