My core values as a designer are rooted in compassion for the Earth and all living beings, a principle I equate with true sustainability. This always comes first in my work.
Functionality, usability, form, and aesthetics share second place, followed by financial viability. This is, of course, a simplification. Each of these priorities carries deeper, personal significance, but broadly speaking, I believe that what I create should bring genuine value to the user while minimizing harm to the planet. Profitability is necessary,
whether I work independently or as part of a team, but it should never compromise the integrity of design or sustainability. I hold myself accountable to these values on a daily basis. Staying grounded in purpose, rather than drifting into ego-driven self-expression, is essential to maintaining authenticity in my work. This ongoing commitment not only deepens my creative process but gives lasting meaning to my professional life as a designer –a sense of meaning I can never tire of. While I don’t often speak about this openly, I share it here to offer insight into my mindset and motivations as a designer. These principles guide every decision I make and keep me driven, no matter the challenge.
